How to send a parcel in Ghana (the cheap, modern way)

6/8/2026 · Guides · 5 min read

Sending a parcel across Ghana used to mean two bad options: pay a premium for a dedicated courier, or hand it to a trotro driver and hope for the best. African Post GH gives you a third, better way — your parcel rides with someone already making the trip, and you only pay what you agree.

1. Post what you need moved

Tell us the pickup city, the drop-off city, what the parcel is, its weight, and the maximum you're willing to pay. It's free to post and takes under a minute.

2. Let transporters bid

Verified couriers, taxi drivers, bus operators and truckers heading your way send offers at or below your budget. Each one shows their rating and verification badge, so you can choose on trust as well as price.

3. Accept, track, and confirm

Pick the best offer and the transporter's contact unlocks. You get a 4-digit delivery code to share with your recipient — the parcel is only marked delivered once they read it back. You can follow the carrier live on a map the whole way.

What does it cost?

You set the price. On a route like Accra → Kumasi, senders typically pay between GH₵ 90 and GH₵ 170 for a small parcel, far less than a dedicated courier. Posting is always free; you pay the transporter directly.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe?
Transporters are rated and can submit Ghana Card verification. Always check ID at pickup, and use the delivery PIN so a parcel can't be marked delivered without your recipient confirming.
How do I pay?
Payment is arranged directly between you and the transporter — typically MoMo. African Post GH doesn't take a cut of your delivery at launch.
