This Privacy Policy explains how Caisse Continentale Afrique, the non-profit association (association loi 1901, SIREN 848 676 136, registered office 18 Rue Victor Hugo, 45120 Châlette-sur-Loing, France) that operates African Post GH, collects and uses your personal data. We are the data controller. We aim to follow good data-protection practice, including the EU GDPR.
1. What we collect
- Account data: name, email, phone number, password (stored hashed), and whether you are a sender, transporter or driver.
- Verification data: your Ghana Card number (stored encrypted), a selfie holding your card, and for transporters optionally a licence, vehicle photo and plate.
- Listings & activity: shipments, trips, offers, messages, reviews and reports you create.
- Location: when a driver chooses to share their position so a sender can track a delivery, we store the last shared coordinates.
- Technical data: basic logs and cookies needed to run the site and keep you signed in.
2. Why we use it
- To run the Service and let you publish and find transporters.
- To verify identity and build trust between users.
- To connect the two parties to a delivery and enable tracking.
- For safety, fraud prevention, handling reports, and legal compliance.
Our legal bases are: performing our agreement with you, your consent (e.g. ID verification and location sharing), and our legitimate interest in a safe, working platform.
3. What we share
- With the other party to a delivery: once an offer is accepted, the sender and transporter see each other’s name and contact details (e.g. phone) so they can arrange the handover. Drivers see the recipient’s name and phone.
- Service providers who host or help run the platform (e.g. hosting, email, SMS), under appropriate safeguards.
- Authorities where required by law or to protect users.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Your Ghana Card & sensitive data
Your Ghana Card number is stored encrypted and is only accessible to you and our verification team. We keep verification data only as long as needed for trust and safety.
5. Retention
We keep your data while your account is active and as needed for the purposes above or to meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and data.
6. Your rights
Subject to law, you can request to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact contact@africanpost.fr. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
7. Security
We use measures such as encryption of sensitive fields, HTTPS and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your password safe and be careful what you share with other users.
8. Children
African Post GH is not intended for anyone under 18.
9. International
We are based in France and operate in Ghana, so your data may be processed in both. We apply appropriate safeguards for any transfer.
10. Changes & contact
We may update this policy; the date above shows the latest version. Questions or requests: contact@africanpost.fr — Caisse Continentale Afrique, France.
